South Korea’s LG Display Co. announced on Monday that it has developed an in-house artificial intelligence (AI) assistant designed to automate routine tasks and improve employee productivity.

The AI service is aimed at helping employees perform mundane tasks. It supports features such as automatic interpretation and translation for video conferences and automatic meeting minutes generation.

LG Display expects the tool to save about 50 minutes per employee in an eight-hour workday, boosting daily productivity by roughly 10 percent.

The company aims to raise that figure to over 30 percent in the next three years.

Developed using LG’s proprietary EXAONE 3.5 large language model, the AI assistant was created in collaboration with LG CNS Co.

The company said it avoided over 10 billion won ($7.03 million) in costs by building the system internally rather than using third-party software.

EXAONE 3.5 ranked first in the edge category on AI platform Hugging Face, the company said.
