Daesang Group, known for its expertise in food manufacturing, is accelerating its push to enhance digital capabilities across its operations. The company sees the rapid evolution of information technology, including artificial intelligence, as a critical factor for future success.
The company announced on Tuesday that it is pursuing digitalization at all stages of its business, from product planning and development to sales and management. A key initiative in this effort is its big data analysis platform, DAYS, which processes about 6 million internal and external data points daily, including customer feedback, sales figures, weather data, and economic indicators. The platform provides insights into consumer trends, industry developments, and market dynamics, enabling more informed decision-making.
To strengthen collaboration across its subsidiaries, Daesang Group launched a centralized “R&D Information Integration Data Hub” in August 2023. This hub consolidates research and development data accumulated by its domestic and international affiliates, improving the group’s ability to leverage innovation collectively. Additionally, the company implemented a “Customer Relationship Management (CRM)” system in 2023 to systematically manage sales data, which was previously recorded through Excel and email tools.
The group is also investing in talent development to support its digital initiatives. Daesang selected nine individuals in 2023 to participate in a data specialist training program held from May to September of that year. It aims to train and certify over 30 data experts by the end of 2026.
