Samsung Electronics Co. is launching a same-day delivery service for home appliances in South Korea, beginning in the Seoul metropolitan area.
Customers who purchase home appliances from Samsung’s official online store before noon will be eligible for same-day delivery from Thursday onwards. The service covers appliances that do not require prior installation, excluding items like water purifiers, electric ranges, induction cooktops, air conditioners, dishwashers, ovens, and non-drillable wall-mount TVs. Samsung Electronics Logitech will handle the delivery for a fee of 100,000 won ($71).
Mobile devices under 50,000 won, such as smartphones and wearables, can also be delivered on the same day for a 5,000 won fee via a separate courier service. High-end products like Galaxy S and Galaxy Z smartphones, PCs, printers, and the upcoming Galaxy Ring are excluded from the service.
The service will initially be available in Seoul and surrounding areas, with plans to expand to other major cities. Samsung launched this service to cater to the growing demand for same-day delivery among Korean consumers.
The company expects high demand for appliances like refrigerators, TVs, and smartphones that may require urgent replacement due to malfunctions or damage. Samsung aims to enhance customer convenience and satisfaction via this service, the company said.
