South Korea’s Lotte Mart has opened its first store in Singapore inside the FairPrice Xtra outlet at VivoCity, the Red Dot’s largest discount store that is operated by top retailer NTUC FairPrice.
The new shop-in-shop concept, which launched on Thursday, marks Lotte Mart’s debut in Singapore and is the result of a product supply agreement signed with FairPrice in August 2024. The move expands Lotte’s Southeast Asian presence beyond Indonesia and Vietnam, where it has been operating since 2008.
The store features a dedicated “Lotte Zone” highlighting Lotte Mart’s popular private-label products alongside signature items from Lotte Wellfood and Lotte Chilsung. It also includes a ramyun station where customers can enjoy instant Korean noodles, and shelves stocked with top products from Korean food brands like CJ and Ottogi.
Lotte Mart said it plans to distribute its private-label products via more than 100 FairPrice stores across Singapore. The company currently exports over 500 products to 13 territories, including Vietnam, Mongolia, and Hong Kong.
Executives from both companies, including Lotte Mart/Super CEO Kang Sung-hyun, Vipul Chawla, Group CEO of FairPrice Group, and Shin Yoo-yeol, executive director of Lotte Group’s Future Growth Office, attended the opening ceremony in Singapore.
