Seoul Money Show 2025, South Korea’s largest financial investment expo, saw a strong turnout on its final day, particularly among younger visitors. The turnout highlights growing public interest in financial education and personal finance strategies amid the current economic uncertainty.
Held at COEX in Gangnam District, Seoul, the event saw long lines forming an hour before opening on May 10th, 2025, despite the weather. The event offers a series of open conferences and lectures on personal finance and asset management.
According to the organizers, 52% of the attendees were in their 20s and 30s, a notable increase from the previous year and reflecting a heightened interest in financial literacy among younger generations.
The venue offered a range of seminars and educational sessions tailored to diverse age groups, including popular lectures on affordable housing options which drew significant participation from newlyweds and young couples. Families also brought their young children for classes tailored for that age group.
Some attendees, including active-duty soldiers, stated their motivation to gain financial knowledge and plan for the future.
Kim Ji-min, an office worker who is getting married at the end of 2025, said, “My fiancé and I visited the event together as a weekend date,” adding that it was nice to be able to study while listening to the financial technology lecture and make future plans together.
Some soldiers attended the event right after their first day of vacation from their base, saying that “We felt the need for financial acumen as we draw salaries during our military service and came to this forum to learn.” After attending the seminar, families were seen playing games and taking pictures together at various booths set up by financial companies.
