Toray Advanced Materials Korea Inc. announced on Thursday that it has developed a cooling fabric that is safe for humans, Snolene, using proprietary technology.
Snolene delivers an instant cooling effect by rapidly dispersing heat on contact with the skin, enabled by its high thermal conductivity. Garments made with the material can reduce the wearer’s perceived body temperature by around 3 to 6 degrees Celsius in summer conditions.
The fabric also offers strong resistance to contamination, supporting hygiene and safety, while its low moisture absorption allows for quick sweat evaporation and fast drying to maintain comfort.
With demand for cooling textiles rising amid intensifying heatwaves and climate change, the company said it will continue to meet market needs through the development of sustainable materials that align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values.
