SK shieldus Co., an integrated security monitoring service provider in South Korea, announced on Wednesday that it has entered into a strategic partnership with U.S. telecommunications giant Verizon Communications Inc.

The collaboration will focus on enhancing global incident response capabilities, upgrading remote security monitoring services, and jointly offering penetration testing and vulnerability assessment services.

Under the partnership, the two companies will establish a joint incident response system designed to quickly address the growing complexity of security environments and increasingly sophisticated threats.

This system will allow the companies to respond swiftly to security breaches affecting manufacturing firms with overseas operations.

SK shieldus will handle incidents in Korea while Verizon will manage responses abroad.

SK shieldus and Verizon will also work together to advance remote security monitoring services by sharing their respective expertise in operating security operations centers (SOC).

SK shieldus’s SOC can collect and process vast amounts of threat data, handling about 8 trillion events annually, 7.9 billion events daily, and up to 250,000 events per second using big data processing technologies.

Verizon, for its part, brings its extensive telecommunications network to the table.

“Through our collaboration with Verizon, we will leverage the strengths of both companies to enhance our market dominance,” said SK shieldus Vice Chairman Hong Won-pyo.
