South Korea’s Samyang Foods received a carbon footprint certification for its popular Buldak instant noodles from international climate consulting organization Carbon Trust, the company said on Wednesday.
The certification recognizes a company’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Carbon Trust evaluates the greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout a product’s lifecycle - from production and distribution to usage and disposal - and issues certification to those that meet or set emissions reduction targets.
Samyang Foods plans to include the carbon footprint certification mark on both domestic and overseas packaging of its Buldak products. The company said it plans to strengthen ESG management even further as well as offering trustworthy product information via certifications recognized in Korea and abroad to help guide consumer choices.
