E-Land Park’s luxury resort, Grand Kensington Seorak Beach, is set to open in the first half of 2026 and will debut of its unique cultural program. As part of its global tourism strategy, the resort will host South Korea’s first-ever exhibition of Pablo Picasso’s ceramic works.
E-Land announced Sunday that the Grand Kensington Seorak Beach will host the “Picasso Ceramics Special Exhibition” as its grand opening cultural event. This exhibition will showcase about 100 ceramic pieces by Picasso, curated around nine themes including women and mythology - subjects the artist frequently explored.
“This exhibition offers a rare opportunity for domestic audiences to experience Picasso’s signature artistic style and cubist influences through his ceramics, created during the peak of his artistic career,” an E-Land Park spokesperson said.
One highlight is the piece “Flute Player,” Picasso’s first official ceramic edition produced at the Madoura Pottery in 1947 that features a minimalist representation of an ancient double flute player.
The exhibition will also feature collections related to Picasso’s time in Paris and collaborations with contemporaries such as Jean Cocteau, Coco Chanel, and Salvador Dalí. Visitors can explore immersive experiences through recreated workspaces and a media art zone.
In a nod to community engagement and the resort’s commitment to inclusive cultural offerings, the exhibition will be open to the general public. E-Land Park and Grand Kensington Seorak Beach plan to establish a permanent exhibition space in the future to display Picasso’s works year-round.
Grand Kensington Seorak Beach is the first property to carry the premium Grand Kensington brand name. With its opening slated for the first half of 2026, the project is on track to become a flagship destination that blends art and luxury lifestyle in a way that sets it apart from traditional resorts.
What sets the resort apart is its “Art and Culture” concept showcasing previously unseen works from E-Land’s 30-year collection throughout the property. Visitors will encounter renowned works by global and domestic artists, creating a unique experience akin to visiting a grand museum.
The most sought-after unit type, measuring 266 square meters, has already seen more than 70 percent of its units sold. Experience rooms have maintained a reservation rate of over 90 percent since their opening, particularly during weekends.
Grand Kensington Seorak Beach is expected to become a major tourist attraction in Gangwon Province, offering sweeping ocean views from every room.
