South Korean dairy food manufacturer Binggrae Co. announced on Thursday that it will raise the prices of its fermented milk products later this month, citing rising raw material and production costs.
The company said the ex-factory price of Yoplait Original Multi will go up by 5.3 percent, while Dr. Capsule will increase by 4 percent. The hikes will take effect sequentially after consultations with distributors.
The retail price of Yoplait Original Multi is expected to rise from 3,780 won to 3,980 won ($2.8) for a pack of 4 units.
Binggrae said in a statement the move was due to “the continued rise in prices of key raw materials, along with mounting pressure from higher labor and energy costs.”
The price increase follows a similar hike in Binggrae‘s ice cream products earlier this year.
