Samsung Electronics Co. said on Tuesday that its new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 smartphones saw the highest pre-sales in the foldable lineup’s history in South Korea, with 1.04 million units sold during the pre-order period from July 15th to 21st, 2025.
The figure surpasses the previous record of 910,000 units set by the Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in July 2024.
Industry analysts attributed the strong demand to slimmer designs and the integration of Galaxy AI, which Samsung has emphasized as a major selling point in its 2025 product lineup.
The Fold 7 accounted for 60 percent of total pre-orders, overtaking the traditionally more popular Flip model for the first time since Samsung Electronics introduced its foldable series in 2019.
The top-selling colors for the Fold 7 were Jet Black and Blue Shadow, and for the Flip 7, they were Blue Shadow and Coralred, according to the company.
More than half of the customers who pre-ordered through the company’s official website also subscribed to the “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club.” The program, available for unlocked devices, offers benefits such as a 50 percent buyback guarantee after one year and accessory discounts.
